The Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre.

On Friday, 18 September 2009, the vision of a first class performing arts centre in the Rural City of Wangaratta was realised. The Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre has delivered unique educational, economic and cultural opportunities for the community and has significantly increase the variety and quality of performances in the City. The Rural City of Wangaratta is proud to have a venue where our local community and visitors can experience the excitement of a nationally acclaimed production, hear the richness of a symphony orchestra and see world class performers and entertainers. 

The Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre was delivered on time and on budget, which allowed the venue to host the 20^th annual Wangaratta Jazz Festival.  After two decades the Wangaratta Jazz Festival continues to deliver great entertainment and considerable economic benefit to the Rural City of Wangaratta.  This internationally acclaimed Festival is without doubt one of Australia’s premier events.  

Thanks to the expanded facilities of the new Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre, the Festival will be complimented by a year round program of local, national and international performances, and major conferences.  This will further Wangaratta’s emerging reputation as one of provincial Victoria’s premier arts destinations.
